Basically it’s about:
What does a clumsy but well-meaning Blissey have to do with Jessie’s secret past? Then, Ash finally reaches town with the next Pokemon gym, Violet City, only to face Team Rocket and a pint-sized Pikachu thief. Plus, the Violet City Gym Leader uses his flying Pokemon to save Pikachu from the grips of team Rocket, but that won’t stop Ash from battling him to win the Zephyr Badge!

“Before I met you, I thought I was in trouble,” says moneyed museum worker Minnie (Gena Rowlands) to longhaired car park attendant Seymour (Seymour Cassel) over a hot dog and a coffee. Such is the basis of tru love in Minnie and Moskowitz, a shaggy, unusually romantic comedy that is nonetheless pure John Cassavetes. After a long introductory sequnce in which each character fills the screen with the rhythm of their respective lives, they meet when Seymour rescus Minnie from a blind date gone hopelessly bad. Minnie and Seymour have almost nothing in common–he’s a talkative, spontaneous goof with quicksilver emotions, a dead-end job, and little ambition, she’s a shy, insecure but sincere upper-class single in an abusive affair with a married man (an uncredited Cassavetes, insidiously charming and crully bullying). But they are both lonely romantics with a love of Bogart movies. As in most of Cassavetes’s work, the script is less a story than a string of dramatic engagements colored with the quirks and emotional impulses of its characters, and he takes his time exploring the nooks and crannies of the volatile relationship. But amidst the shouting matches and frenzied fights are moments of quiet intimacy, and it turns into the most hopeful portrait of romantic love in the Cassavetes canon, complete with a sunny, uncharacteristically happy home movie ending. –Sean Axmaker

This is a great movie with Kenichi Ogata, Sanshiro Nitta, Kozo Shioya, Tetsuo Sakaguchi, Hiroyuki Satou

Basically it’s about:
The masters of anime join forces to create this stunning animated film featuring three separate stories: Magnetic Rose, Stink Bomb and Cannon Fodder. In Magnetic Rose, two space travellers are drawn into an asteroid world created by one woman’s memories. In Stink Bomb, a young lab assistant accidentally transforms himself into a human biological weapon set on a direct course to Tokyo. Cannon Fodder depicts a day in the life of a city whose entire purpose is the firing of cannons at the enemy. Created by the world’s leading anime talent: Koji Morimoto (The Animatrix), Tensai Okamuro (Android Kikaider: The Animation), Katsuhiro otomo (Upcoming Steamboy, Akira), Satoshi Kon (Tokyo Godfathers, Millennium Actress, Perfect Blu).

While I’ve watched Katsuhiro Otomo Presents: Memories a lot, it seems to never get old. I guess it’s one of my favorites. Receiving the dubious windfall at first seems a blessing to Ibrahima Dieng, who lives with his two wives and their seven children. However, as the tale unfolds, the seemingly easy transaction threatens to destroy the traditional fabric of his life. Quickly, the whole neighborhood becomes aware of it, the wives buy provisions on credit, their parents ask for a share and people try to extort him for money – all the while, his attempts to cash the piece of paper turn futile.

MANDABI is a warm, subtle comedy with a series of visual revelations about a civilization struggling to recapture its own rich heritage after a century of colonial corruption.

If you haven’t heard of Solarbabies, here’s a quick plot:
Paying homage to both The Road Warrior and The Lost Boys, Solarbabies is set in a futuristic world where water is scarce, children are locked away in orphanages, and a glowing ball of frenetic energy has the power to make dreams a reality. Released theatrically in 1986, the film’s cast includes a who’s who of some of that decade’s most popular young actors: Jami Gertz (Sixteen Candles, Less Than Zero) is alpha girl Terra; Jason Patric (The Lost Boys, Rush)) portrays hot teen Jason; and Lukas Haas (Witness, Alpha Dog) co-stars as young deaf Danny. Through plucky perseverance and a skillful knowledge of skateball (a roller version of hockey), the kids come up with a plan to save civilization from the corporate dictatorship that rations the free flow of water and also save themselves from their stifling lives in the orphanage. As Terra points out, “We must have parents somewhere.” Some of the sets seem so inspired by the The Road Warrior films that you half expect Tina Turner to pop out, referring to them as Raggedy Children. Instead, we get bon mots (again from Terra) such as, “Get out, you creature of filth!” The film has a certain cheesy charm that may appeal to viewers in their mid-teens. While not an original film by any means, it does include suspense and a surprising amount of heart. –Jae-Ha Kim

If you like Richard Jordan, then you’ll LOVE Solarbabies! Watch it for the first time, or just watch it again! I really enjoyed this movie.
